The Çeşme Museum, housed in the historic Çeşme Castle, showcases the region's rich history and cultural heritage. Built in the 15th century by Genoese traders, the castle was converted into an Ottoman fortress by Sultan Beyazıt II in 1508. Abandoned in the 19th century, it reopened as a gun museum in 1965 and later became the Çeşme Archaeology Museum in 1984.
Exhibits include Bronze Age artifacts from Bağlararası, relics from the ancient city of Erythrai, and a hall of amphoras highlighting ancient maritime trade. A special exhibit details the Ottoman-Russian naval war of 1770. Visitors can explore sculptures, coins, and historical items, along with artifacts from the Temple of Athena and Hellenistic villas in Erythrai. The museum provides an immersive journey through centuries of history.
