Meet your guide in the Old City, across from the Blue Mosque, and embark on a 4-hour guided tour that includes a lunch break. If you book the afternoon session, a coffee break will be included instead.
Important Information:
The Blue Mosque has no admission charge and no ticket lines, however there is a security check line, which can take up to 30 minutes during the mid season and up to 60 minutes during the high season.
At Hagia Sophia we skip the ticket lines, but nobody can skip the security line. Security line, can take up to 30 minutes during the mid season and up to 60 minutes during the high season.
But don't worry, during your waiting time, your guide, who has very good information and great client relation skills, will entertain you with great stories, facts and useful information about Istanbul.
Know before you go inside a Mosque
- Women must cover their hair and shoulders. Please bring your own or you can buy at entrance for 3 Euro.
- Men & women must cover their knees. If you wear shorts, you can buy a bodycover for 3 Euro.
- Only Turkish citizens are allowed in the prayer area of Hagia Sophia.
- This Hagia Sophia ticket gives you access to the Visiting Area & Upper gallery, not the prayer area.

Ali, our Istanbul guide for the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and Basilica Cisterna, was fantastic! His academic knowledge of the sites, the history of the Byzantine, Roman, Ottoman Empires, and recent history really made the tour valuable. It was expensive at over $100/Eur88 per person, but it was worthwhile in being able to go to fast track lines with entry fees already paid. His knowledge was worth the extra cost, going beyond the standard audio guide you could pick up at any site. Ali kept the group engaged AND together, even as some guests split off and returned later. He did let us know about how long we would have in each site, the approximate distances involved, the protocols to follow in the mosques, and so on.
The guide was on time and clear and reasonable in everything. We were a very heterogeneous group: in one hour he knew our names. Rich in knowledge as well and careful and polite. Very nice half-a-day!
