Important Information:
We skip the ticket lines, but we can not skip the security lines.
In high season the security lines can take up to 60 minutes for Hagia Sophia, 15 minutes at Basilica and Topkapi.
*Children aged 0–6 can enter Topkapi Palace free of charge. To obtain the free child ticket, a parent must present the child's passport at the entrance. Passports are mandatory for free entry. Without a passport, a standard ticket must be purchased.
Insider Tip:
Visit the Hagia Sophia before 10AM or after 4PM for a less security line.
Know before you go to Hagia Sophia
- Dress Code: Women must cover their hair and shoulders. Scarves are available for 3 Euro.
- Men & women must cover their knees. If you wear shorts, you can buy a bodycover for 3 Euro.
- Only Turkish citizens are allowed in the prayer area of Hagia Sophia.
- This Hagia Sophia ticket gives you access to the Visiting Area & Upper gallery, not the prayer area.

Istanbul - Topkapi Palace - slightly nerve racking trying to find the Chimney Bisto to collect our tickets but eventually found and procedure inside to collect the tickets went well. Route Guide to the Palace from the Bistro informative and saw us everyone through security. Our other visits with QR Code entry went smoothly. We understand the Topkapi Palace does not have the equipement yet in place to scan QR codes but should be ok for 2026
