The Lisbon National Tile Museum, or Museu Nacional do Azulejo, is a treasure trove of Portuguese culture, showcasing the country’s iconic ceramic tiles, known as azulejos. Housed in the former Convent of Madre de Deus, founded in 1509 by Queen D. Leonor, the museum offers a unique blend of art and history.

The museum’s setting adds to the experience, with its 16th-century mannerist cloister, richly adorned church, and the beautifully decorated Chapels of Saint Anthony and Queen Leonor.
