The Žižkov Television Tower stands as one of Prague’s most eye-catching landmarks, soaring 216 meters into the sky. Located in the Žižkov district, this futuristic building offers unbeatable panoramic views of the city, extending up to 100 kilometers on a clear day. The observation deck, situated 93 meters above ground, can be easily accessed by elevator, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking sights in no time.
The tower is home to three themed observation capsules, each offering a unique experience. The first capsule is part of the World Federation of Great Towers and introduces visitors to famous towers worldwide. In the second capsule, relax in bubble chairs while soaking in the stunning views of Prague’s skyline. The third capsule serves as an exhibition space, showcasing local Czech art, including paintings, photographs, and collages.
Designed by Václav Aulický and Jiří Kozák between 1985 and 1992, the Žižkov Tower's modern architecture contrasts sharply with Prague’s historic buildings. Despite its initial controversy, it has become a city icon, renowned for its daring design and the famous giant baby sculptures crawling up its exterior, created by internationally acclaimed artist David Černý.
To complete your visit, stop by the bistro on the observation deck for a meal with an extraordinary view of the city. Whether you’re seeking a romantic dinner or a casual snack, this restaurant offers a unique dining experience. Please note that the observatory and restaurant may close for private events, so it's recommended to check ahead of your visit.
