Warsaw Public Transport: Tickets, Passes, Prices

17 Feb 2026

Warsaw is compact but well connected. You can explore parts of the city on foot, yet longer distances require public transport. The network includes Metro, buses, trams, and trains. Services operate daily, generally from 5:00 am until around midnight. During the night, an extensive night bus network covers the city.

Tickets & Prices

Warsaw uses a time-based fare system, not a pure zone system. For typical travel within the city, including the airport, you will use Zone 1 tickets. A ticket is valid for all transport modes within its time limit once validated. The validity starts the moment you validate it. If the time runs out and you are checked, the ticket is no longer valid.

Our tip: Stay on the safe side and choose the 75-minute standard ticket. The price difference is just a few cents, but you get much more flexibility, including airport transfers and any necessary transfers within the city.
