Valencia Public Transport: Tickets, Passes, Prices

20 Feb 2026

Valencia is easy to navigate, but the city stretches from the historic centre to the beaches and newer districts, so public transport quickly saves time. The network combines metro, trams and city buses, with integrated SUMA tickets for many journeys. Services run from early morning into late evening, and night buses cover late-night hours on selected routes.

Tickets & Prices

Valencia uses a zone-based fare system. You pay depending on which fare zones your journey covers, and the airport stop uses a “+” supplement. The most relevant zones for you are

  • Zone A – Central Valencia, including most major sights
  • Zone B – Outer districts and nearby suburbs
  • Zone “+” – Airport supplement for the Aeroport stop

Within central Valencia, you will usually travel in Zone A. For Valencia Airport, you need a ticket that includes the “+” supplement, for example AB+.

Valencia Public Transport Ticket Prices

Most reusable tickets are loaded onto a SUMA card. The SUMA card costs €1.10 / $1.20* for cardboard, or €2.20 / $2.40* for plastic, and only needs to be purchased once.

Single Ride Tickets

Single tickets are suitable if you only plan a few rides. Several zone combinations are available depending on how far you travel. The prices below apply to metro and tram single tickets and reflect the combinations most relevant for typical city visitors.

Multi-Journey Tickets – SUMA 10

SUMA 10 is the most practical option for many visitors because it gives you 10 journeys within a selected zone combination. The ticket is valid for metro, tram and city buses within the selected zones. Each journey allows transfers within a defined time window, so you can change between different means of transport without using an additional trip. Several zone combinations are available depending on your travel needs. Below, we list only the combinations that are most relevant for typical city visitors.

Important note: The prices listed below reflect the regular standard fares. A temporary government subsidy campaign affecting SUMA 10 multi-journey tickets and SUMA T day passes is currently in place until 30 June 2026. During this period, eligible ticket types are reduced by 40 to 50 percent. Single ride tickets are not part of this campaign and remain unchanged.

Ticket Type€*$*
SUMA 10, Zone A€9.00$9.90
SUMA 10, Zones AB€12.50$13.75
SUMA 10, Zones AB+ including airport€21.00$23.10

Day Tickets – SUMA T and SUMA T+

These passes allow unlimited travel for one person for 24, 48, or 72 hours from the first validation. SUMA T covers the AB combination, and SUMA T+ covers AB+ including the airport supplement.

SUMA T1, 24 hours, AB€8.00$8.80

Airport Transfer – Valencia Airport (VLC)

Valencia Airport is located about 8 kilometres (5 miles) west of the city centre. Two metro lines connect the airport with the city, and there are also bus options. For more detailed information about airport transport options, routes and ticket choices, please see our guide: How to get from Valencia Airport to the City Center.

Where to Buy & How to Validate Tickets

You can buy and recharge SUMA tickets at metro and tram stations, ticket machines and authorised sales points throughout the city. The SUMA card is reusable and can be reloaded with different ticket types as needed.

All tickets must be validated before starting your journey. In metro and tram stations, validate your ticket at the entrance gates or validation machines before boarding. On city buses, validate your ticket immediately after entering the vehicle.
