The Myra Archaeological Site is a significant historical location that highlights the rich heritage of the Lycian Civilization. Situated between Kaş and Finike, Myra was an influential city in the Lycian Confederation, holding considerable power and three voting rights.

The site is renowned for its rock-cut tombs, which are intricately carved into the cliffs and represent the Lycian's artistic skills. The Roman theater, dating back to the 2nd century AD, showcases the city's cultural vibrancy and was later used for gladiatorial contests.

Myra is also closely associated with St. Nicholas, the bishop of Myra, who is better known as Santa Claus. The Church of St. Nicholas is a major pilgrimage site, built to honor his memory and marking his final resting place.

As a prominent member of the Lycian Union, Myra played a key role in the first democratic federation in history. Its strategic location and access to the sea via Andriake Harbour contributed to its prosperity, especially during the reign of Theodosius II.

Visitors can explore the ancient water canal system carved into the rocks, along with the city walls from the Roman Period. Nearby, the "Birds Paradise" between Çayağzı Harbour and Andriake Ancient City offers a unique ecosystem with 149 bird species and healing sulphurous waters.

Listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List, the Myra Archaeological Site provides a glimpse into an ancient civilization and early Christian traditions, making it one of Turkey's most remarkable historical locations.
