You set out on a great adventure to explore the age of the Discoveries and the evolution of the Commercial & War Navy. The oldest exhibit here is a wooden statue of Archangel Raphael that accompanied Vasco da Gama on his voyage to India. Be prepared to be enchanted by over 17000 items that give you a peek into the Portuguese power and conquests. You’ll come across iconic masterpieces like a rowing boat decorated in neo-Viking style in 1780, the model of the Amélia royal yacht prepared in 1900, nautical astrolabes & the Santa Cruz seaplane, the first seaplane to fly over the ocean in 1922! There is much to discover at this naval treasure house with even a special section for children.
